VIRTEK adds smaller portable projector to the advanced LPS7 projector line

Designed for mobile aerospace applications where size and weight are a factor

JEC COMPOSITES SHOW, Paris, France, April 3, 2007 - Virtek Vision International Inc. (TSX:VRK) ("Virtek" or the "Company"), a leading developer of high value industrial laser solutions, including projection systems for composite manufacturing and component assembly, today announced the development of the Virtek Xtra Small 40 degree Green (VXS-4G) laser projector to be manufactured on the LPS7 common platform.

"The new VXS-4G laser projector offers many benefits to our customers," states Bob Sandness, president and CEO of Virtek. "The LPS7 projector design doubles projection speed, optimizes thermal management and provides better power filtering for improved reliability. The new smaller VXS-4G projector brings the productivity benefits of laser projection to a whole new range of tight access aerospace assembly applications including inner fuselage, click bonds, wiring harness and hydraulic line routing."

LPS7 projectors have been standard on all Virtek LaserEdge® systems since the fall of 2005. They include on-board diagnostics indicators and are completely sealed to withstand harsh work environments.

The new VXS-4G version weighs less than 10 kilograms and is approximately 50 percent smaller than the LPS7, measuring just 14.2" x 8.1" x 8.5" (36 cm x 20.5 cm x 21.6 cm). The new projector is also 20 dB quieter than previous models. The green wavelength diode laser comes in a short-range version with a projection angle (field of view) of +/-40 degrees.
